Tri NZ elites and age groupers remain on steady footing with ASICS
AUCKLAND (November 11, 2024) –Triathlon New Zealand is delighted to announce the renewal of its long-standing partnership with exclusive footwear partner ASICS.
The supplier agreement with the Japanese foot and sportwear innovators, represented in New Zealand by Brittain Wynyard & Co Ltd, has been extended for a further two years.
In addition to supplying footwear to several Tri NZ elite squad members through individual athlete agreements, ASICS will provide free shoes to tier two and three athletes in the national squad. Development athletes (U19) will also have access to purchasing arrangements on their footwear needs.
ASICS’ partnership also flows down to community level with voucher giveaways at all Tri NZ Suzuki Series events this summer. In addition to supporting Tri NZ’s domestic age group showcase, ASICS is providing a $250 ‘lucky draw’ voucher each month from November to April as part of Tri NZ’s membership renewal drive.
ASICS NZ Sports Marketing Manager, Matthew Wallace, says the partnership with Triathlon New Zealand is the happy extension of a global connection with swim, bike and run.
“ASICS has long been a supporter of triathlon on a local and global stage so we’re delighted to announce the renewal of their partnership agreement with Triathlon New Zealand,” Wallace said.
“As Tri NZ’s Official Footwear Partner, ASICS will continue to supply its globally renowned footwear to tiered athletes and high-performance staff, further providing access to development athletes to experience the comfort of ASICS.
“In addition, ASICS will continue to support local triathlon events elevating experiences and connecting the triathlon community.”
Tri NZ CEO Pete De Wet is thrilled ASICS will continue putting a spring in the step of elites performing at World Triathlon events, as well as supporting age groupers chasing their goals at the critical grassroots level.
“ASICS are a valued partner of Triathlon New Zealand and I am delighted that they have agreed to renew their relationship with us for another two years,” De Wet said.
“It’s great that they continue to see the value that the triathlon community brings to their brand. I know our elite athletes and a huge cohort of age groupers certainly appreciate the performance edge ASICS lend them on the world stage and at events like our Tri NZ Suzuki Series.
“We look forward to continuing to build and grow our partnership.”
