A one-day race license allows an athlete to compete in Tri NZ Sanctioned events without needing to purchase an annual membership.  The membership only lasts for that event day and additional one-day membership would need to be purchased for any other events you participate in over the season.  Annual Tri NZ membership covers all events you compete in over the season…. in short, it’s a lot cheaper to be an annual member.

Ironman, Mt Festival of Multisport, and Challenge events incorporate one day memberships, as do all Tri NZ National Championship and Selection events.

One Day Membership Fees (per race if not an annual member):
– Long-distance events  =NZD$25
– Middle-distance events =NZD$20
– Olympic-distance or mid-distance events= NZD$10
– Sprint-distance, short-distance or school’s events= NZD$5

Joining a club is a great way to become part of your local triathlon community, with many clubs around NZ offering training sessions and local events.  Some clubs also offer, or subsidise Tri NZ membership as part of their club membership.  All club members are required to be members of Tri NZ.

Please note: Club membership alone does not waive the one-day race license.

No – your Triathlon NZ membership does not cover you to race internationally and you will be required to pay a one day membership for overseas races.

Please note this does not cover anything outside of what is deemed an accident to a person (e.g. illness) and does not cover any damages to other people or property related to your accident.  It only covers your treatment while in NZ and does not cover ongoing treatment in your place of residence, or your travel costs to return home after the accident.

For more information please visit the ACC website here.
