As a former elite level triathlete Bevan has competed at World Champs in Olympic, Long Course and Iron distance races. In 2016 at the age of 45 he raced IMNZ in a time of 8hrs 48mins earning himself the title of fastest NZ age group athlete of all time on that course. Later that year Bevan raced to a Gold Medal at the 70.3 World Champs in Mooloolaba and a Gold Medal at the Ironman World Champs in Kona.
Bevan holds the position of Research Associate for AUT Millennium’s Endurance Performance Clinic and Triathlon Coach for the Sports Performance Research Institute. With over 15 years’ experience of triathlon coaching he has featured in many articles and books including most recently ‘What the Fat? Sports Performance’ by Prof Grant Schofield.
Bevan also hosts a weekly podcast called Fitter Radio with Nutritionist Mikki Williden and runs Triathlon Swimming Squads out of AUT Millennium’s 50 metre pools.
