Andrew Mackay is the head coach and founder of Boost Coaching. Individually he has supported hundreds of athletes toward goals both through specific coaching programs or 1:1 lessons or consultations.
Andrew’s background is competitive swimming where he competed successfully at a National Level before moving into triathlons.
Andrew started triathlons in 2004 as an age group competitor and has worked and trained alongside some of New Zealand’s top coaches and athletes. He competed professionally between 2006-2009 and raced in the pro field at the 2009 Ironman Champs in Hawaii.
Andrew has worked with a range of athletes aging from 14 years old to late 50s. Many of the athletes are training for Half and Ironman distance events but also a number that are training for sprint & standard distance triathlons as well as endurance running and cycling events.
I am used to working with busy people and have successfully helped people balance life – Family/ work/ education/ sports all take lots of time but all are very important. I work with each person to find that fine line where you can do it all successfully.
Andrew has a strong knowledge and application in each of the three disciplines but one of the specific areas I have a very strong background on is, SWIMMING.
I have successfully worked with professional athletes, adults learning to swim and individuals just simply wanting to improve. Learn more about the services I offer including 1:1 swim lessons, open water swim training and more by visiting
