DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the home of the “JD Duathlons” \nThe inaugural JD Duathlons were established in 2009 with two Christchurch based events run by John Newsom & Dave Dwan. \nThe JD Duathlons strive to provide a variety of race options for all levels of athletes from the first timer to elite athlete and do so in a professional and safe manner. There is a great crew of sponsors on board and both John & Dave are athletes themselves so know what makes for a successful event \nWe have a race for you!! \n\nFirst timers – there is the novice race where you don’t have to line up against the big guns.\nTeams – if the full race looks a bit much find a mate or work colleague to join up with and do one part of the race.\nCorporate – why not set up a few work teams and go head to head or go against other businesses\nKids – we have a separate course for the kids with no cars to worry about\nSerious athletes – test yourself against some of the best in the region on a multi lap draft free course\nSpectators – no longer do you see 5 seconds of the race. DESCRIPTION:The 2025 edition of the Auckland Duathlon Championships will be hosted at Māngere Bridge on 14 September 2025. \nThe ride takes place on traffic-managed\, quiet roads\, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience\, while the run follows a mix of off-road concrete paths and gravel roads\, set against the stunning backdrop of the Manukau Harbour and the iconic Māngere Bridge. \nThe event is open to all\, novice to seasoned athletes and once again hosts the New Zealand Sprint Duathlon Championship\, New Zealand Secondary School Duathlon Championship and New Zealand Para Duathlon. \nThis event has been hosted by Auckland City Tri Club since 2009\, and was formally called the Pukekohe Sprint Duathlon. \nDistances/Events\nDuathlon (Run + Bike + Run):\nSprint: 5K + 20K + 2.5K \nU14: 2.5K + 10K + 2.5K\nU16: 3.5K + 15K + 2.5K
