Spread across 4 events with a multitude of races/disciplines this forms a pivotal aspect of our junior development framework by providing age and stage appropriate racing within NZ. Our desire is to ensure deep fields at all of these events to continue developing the skills factor within short course triathlon racing.

Tinman Triathlon: Tauranga, Nov 20th 2022
– U16: Have A Go (300/13/3)
– U19: Sprint Distance
Manawatu Triathlon League: Palmerston North, Dec 16th-18th 2022
– U16 and U19: Championship Series (4 events total)
Kinloch Triathlon Festival: Taupo, February 11-12th 2023
– U16: Aquathlon, Youth Triathlon
– U19: Aquathlon, Sprint Distance Triathlon
Grand Finales
U16: National Schools Championships: Wanaka, March 30-31st 2023
– U16 Tri Championships
U19: Oceania U19 Elite Championships, Taupo, Feb 25th 2023
– U19 Oceania Sprint Championships
Points
- Athletes accrue points throughout the series based on placing within each event
- The Series races will carry a weighting of 100 points across the weekend
- Grand Finale races carry a weighting of 200 points
- Where an event has multiple disciplines, the tables attached outline the points on offer across the weekend for that location. The sum of the points from that race will move forward for that location and count as 1 event towards their series accumulation
- Athletes may accrue points from a maximum of THREE locations from across the series.
- Athletes BEST 3 scores will be counted towards their series total
- In the event of a tie, the athletes placing in the Grand Finale will decide position
- In some instances we will have athletes cross age-group classifications – ie: an U16 athlete for Tinman and Manawatu will then ‘age-up’ to U19 for the finale races. In this case we will carry over any U16 points directly to the U19 points table to ensure athletes are not disadvantaged due to this and ensure that athetes are racing in age and stage appropriate events.
