The OxMan is NZ’s newest long course triathlon incorporating a festival of race options to suit all athletes. As well as our long course triathlon/duathlon/aquabike (swim/bike) we have a Mini OxMan, a Junior OxMan for 10-16 year olds, a kids duathlon for 5-9 year olds and run only options over 21km and 7km distances. Teams and individuals are welcome.
Our event takes place in rural North Canterbury with quiet roads and a country feel. Event director John Newsom organises the Pak’nSave Save Triathlon Festival, Sea2Sky Challenge and JD Duathlon series where the focus is on getting the small details right. The aim with this event is to conduct a fairly priced event with some, but not all, the bells and whistles you get at Ironman and Challenge branded events. Full OxMan athletes will get finishers medals an item of memorabilia and an extremely well organised event but there will not be the marques, welcome dinner, smorgasbord of food at aid stations or a free finishers t-shirt that you might expect at an Ironman event. This is reflected in the entry fee which will be approximately half the price of a branded race.
