East Pier Summer Series Race #5 Club Champs and HB Secondary Schools Individual Championships

15 March 2020,08:00 - 15 March 2020,11:00

Well when you think summer you must be thinking Triathlon! And the The East Pier Triathlon and Duathlon series is what it is all about this summer.

There are five events this summer and at each event there are five different races with different distance and options that should suit everyone from the absolute beginner to the seasoned athlete. Our events cater for participants from the age of 7 to 99 and Walkers are welcome and encouraged to enter.

The full Triathlon events are recommended for anyone aged 13 years and over, but we have other events such as an Aquathlon to suit all ages. You can do the event as an individual or if that seems a bit much, get a friend and do it as a team. You could even get two friends and really have a fun and relaxed day out there.

Triathlon
Short, long distances available, we invite individuals and teams to participate

Duathlon
The Duathlon consists of a 5km run, 21km bike, 2km run and starts at 8am. For individuals and teams.

AquaBike
The Aquabike event will be over the sprint distance course but without the run.

NEW EVENTS-
This year we excited to be offering the options of an Aquathlon event consisting of a short or long course
750m swim and a 5km run
200m swim and a 2km run
AND a 5km run/walk only option through the stunning Ahuriri Estuary pathway.

Both of these events can be done as an individual only.
For the 7 -9 year olds Aquathlon there is a 100m swim followed by a 1km run and the 10-12 year olds have a 200m swim followed by a 2km run.
Entry for this event will be $10 and registrations are online.
Start will be approx. 8.15 am as we don’t want the kids caught up with the triathlon swimmers.
The swim will be shallow enough that swimmers can stand up in the water. Parents/helpers can walk in the water or on the shoreline if they wish.

This event is one of 28 events Triathlon Hawke’s Bay manages a year. Triathlon Hawke’s Bay is a triathlon and duathlon based club. We are a professionally run organisation that prides itself on supporting the needs of all its members and community whether they want to simply have a go or achieve to an elite level. We have over 6000 people take part in our events over the course of a year.

We pride ourselves in being an open and friendly club that invites anybody who may be interested in the sport to come out and give it “tri”. If you have a goal of achieving a triathlon or duathlon but feel that your medical or physical disability may prevent this let us know your needs and which race you would like to have a go at. We will do all that we can, within our power, to ensure your race is successful and fun. We aim to provide events for everyone and have loads of options at each event (up to 11 different disciplines) including a run/walk option in many of our events. Walkers are encouraged to enter, so don’t be shy.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our events!!
