Congratulations to our Tri NZ Junior World’s team!
These awesome young athletes have been selected for the squad and are pumped. They have all been training hard and have shown great determination and talent.
We want to acknowledge and celebrate their efforts and commitment through these uncertain times. And despite not being able to attend the World Champs due to MIQ availability, they are remaining positive and motivated!
Olivia – “I am super stoked to be selected as part of the Junior Worlds team this year and am looking forward to what is to follow! It’s been a rocky lead up with Covid circumstances and disappointing we are unable to attend the event, however it’s been such a privilege to be able to race within New Zealand!”
Oliver – “I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity, and to be able to qualify for Junior Worlds! Obviously disappointed not being able to race in Bermuda but am very eager for the upcoming season and another shot at junior worlds in 2022.”
Jack – I’m stoked to be selected! Unfortunately due to COVID we cannot take part, but motivation is high moving into the upcoming season. Stepping up to U23 this year will be challenging, but I am looking forward to the process ahead.”
Sam – “It means everything to be selected in a team of likeminded athletes all striving for the same goal. Being able to represent New Zealand at the highest level of sport has always been a dream of mine and this gets me one step closer which I am extremely grateful for.”
Sophie – “Not being able to go to the Junior Worlds due to Covid circumstances is obviously super disappointing. However, I am so stoked to have been selected to be a part of the junior team this year, what an opportunity! Luckily, I still have another 2 years left in the under 19 category, so hopefully in the future I will be given the chance to be selected again.”
Brea – “I am ecstatic to be selected for the Junior Worlds team this year. Although I cannot attend it gives me motivation for the next few years as I move out of the junior category.”
