Triathlon New Zealand celebrates age group athletes every year for achievement and performance. In previous years, Age Group champions have been awarded a special opportunity to train alongside the National Elite Team in Cambridge. Read more

 

If you think you have what it takes to take out your Age Group, make sure you’re competing in age group recognised events (National Championships) for your chance to be Age Grouper of the Year.

The best two points earned across the National Championship season will be used to calculate championship points. Athletes can gain points across four distances and are allocated accordingly:

 

Standard or Short Course 
Defined (for this) purpose as the longest run component being 11km or shorter

 

First place = 10 points
Tenth place = 1 point

 

Long Course 

Defined (for this) purpose as the longest run component being between 11.1-21.00km

 

First place = 15 points
Tenth place = 1.5 points

 

Ultra Course 

Defined (for this) purpose as the longest run component being 22km or longer

 

First place = 20 points
Tenth place = 2 points
