Age Grouper of the Year

Triathlon New Zealand celebrates age group athletes every year for achievement and performance. In previous years, Age Group champions have been awarded a special opportunity to train alongside the National Elite Team in Cambridge. Read more

 

Thanks to CPA Australia for sponsoring the 2016/17 season with great prize packs that included customised drink bottles, hats, stationery and a trophy.  As the new season approaches, we look forward to celebrating the winners for 2017/18 with a new sponsor to be confirmed.

 

If you think you have what it takes to take out your Age Group, make sure you’re competing in age group recognised events (National Championships) for your chance to be Age Grouper of the Year.

How does the points system work?

The best two points earned across the National Championship season will be used to calculate championship points. Athletes can gain points and are allocated these (across all distances) accordingly:

 

  • First place = 15 points
  • Tenth place = 1.5 points

  • 16-19
  • 20-24
  • 25-29
  • 30-34
  • 35-39
  • 40-44
  • 45-49
  • 50-54
  • 55-59
  • 60-64
  • 65-69
  • 70-74
  • 75-79
  • 80+

 

*Athletes who hold a Pro License that is valid for any of the recognised races will be excluded from this competition.
